Dog Walk & Play Times

A minimum of four times each day between the following times:
- 6:30 a.m.
- 11:30 a.m.
- 4:30 p.m.
- 8:00 p.m.

Weather permitting, the first three times are about 20 minutes. The last one is for about 5 to 10 minutes. We take our cue from the pups. If it’s too cold or too hot, we bring them back in so they can be as comfortable as possible. There is water available in the yards during the day so the dogs can take a drink whenever they need a break from the action

Check-In Information

Please allow 5–10 minutes at drop-off to complete paperwork. First-time guests must fill out a client information sheet and a check-in form. A check-in form is required for every boarding stay and lists your pet’s visit dates and belongings. If you have special instructions, please bring them written down so our staff can ensure everything is followed correctly during busy times.

GROOMING

If you’d like your pet groomed during their stay, please schedule directly with Bark Avenue Canine Designs at 785-565-0612 before your boarding check-in, as grooming appointments fill quickly.

You’re welcome to bring anything that will help your pet feel comfortable during their stay. For first-time visits, we recommend bringing a recently worn t-shirt or towel that smells like home to help ease anxiety while your pup adjusts to the routine. You may also bring bedding, but please note that pets sometimes chew or damage items during their stay. While we will remove bedding if needed and attempt to clean it if soiled, we cannot guarantee that personal items won’t be lost or damaged. We provide water buckets, food bowls, and bedding if needed.

FOOD

We feed Canidae All Life Stages dry kibble and offer regular or grain-free biscuits for afternoon snacks. If your pet requires a special diet, please bring their food from home. If it runs out, we will contact you to discuss options.

MEDICATION

If your pet needs medication, we are happy to administer it at no additional charge. Please provide clear written instructions with the medication, including dosage and timing.

Cat Boarding

Cats stay in a quiet, separate room away from the dogs, featuring a large window with bird feeders and plenty of shelves and spaces to climb and relax.

At night, cats rest in their own enclosures, but during the day they can roam the room once they’re comfortable—usually after 2–3 days of settling in. If any cats don’t get along, we rotate roaming time to keep everyone safe and stress-free.

Our team checks on the cats frequently throughout the day, making sure food and water are fresh and litter boxes are clean so every cat stays happy and comfortable.

VACCINES
Cats must be current with Rabies, Distemper, and Feline Leukemia (if they go outdoors)
